Police spokesperson Captain Sergio Kock said: "The Rosedale SAPS are investigating an inquest after the body of a 35-year-old female was discovered this morning. At about 07:30, a passerby discovered the body of the deceased on the railway tracks in Rosedale." The police officer had been on duty the previous day at the Upington police station, Kock said, adding that it would explain why she was dressed in police uniform.
