The Witness reports that Alfred Duma Municipal fire department rushed out to Sumitomo Rubber factory along the Helpmekaar Road in Ladysmith after a fire broke out there on Monday.

The details of the incident are still unknown, except that everyone was evacuated. Billowing black smoke and flames could be seen coming from one of the buildings within the premises. All emergence services officials were on scene.
