drdgoldMining Weekly reports that on Wednesday, trade union UASA advised that it had entered into a three-year wage agreement with gold producer DRDGold.

Under the terms of the agreement, category four and five workers will receive a 9.5% increase over three years, while their living-out allowances will increase by R150 to R3,150 a month. Further, category 10 to 15 workers will receive a 6.5% increase or consumer price inflation, whichever is greater, each year over three years. Category six to nine employees will receive an 8% increase each year over three years. UASA is hopeful that the agreed-upon wage increase will contribute positively towards the livelihood of our members and all workers employed within the entity," the union noted.
