newsNews24 reports that Eastern Cape police have launched a manhunt for a farmworker who allegedly stabbed a farmer who had fired him a few days prior.

Barkly East detectives said the stabbing occurred at around 08:30 on Thursday, two days after the 53-year-old farmer had dismissed the worker. Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, said the farmer was inside his premises in Barkly East, when he was attacked and stabbed. The victim sustained injuries to the upper body and was treated at the nearest hospital. The suspect is still at large. A case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm has been registered for further investigation.
