sanral thumb100 The New Age reports that the SA National Roads Agency (Sanral) has denied claims made by labour federation Cosatu that the e-tolling system would result in job losses for people working in toll plazas.

The claims was made by the labour federation’s KwaZulu-Natal secretary Edwin Mkhize during a picket at the Marianhill toll plaza in Pinetown on Thursday.  Mkhize said:  “We have noticed that there is a diplomatic strategy by Sanral to spread e-tolls.  This system does nothing but take away jobs because where the shisha lane is (there) used to have someone working there.  Now what is going to happen when all of the lanes use e-tags?”
