News24 reports that Metrorail has warned of delays of up to two hours on services in Cape Town on Tuesday morning due to vandalised equipment.
This comes as Cape Town train commuters have faced over a week of delays and cancellations due to arson and vandalism. Metrorail has called the vandalism acts of sabotage, and has previously suggested that those behind the arson attacks were illegal strikers. Meanwhile, the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has warned that Metrorail is nearing collapse and emergency measures were needed to "save the system" that carried more people to work in Cape Town than any other form of public transport.
