ANA reports that the family of a trapped Impala Platinum (Implats) miner was due on Wednesday to go underground to see where he went missing.
Company spokesperson Johan Theron said: “We have obtained a clearance from rescue teams to take representatives of the family underground to see and understand the [rescue] process.” Rock drill operator, Ohemile Moses Maamogwa, 55, went missing underground following a rock fall at Implats’ 1 Shaft in Meriting near Rustenburg on 17 May. He has not yet been located. The body of his colleague Tanki Samuel Lepitikoe was later found and he has been buried in Maseru.
