ANA reports that an active National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) member working for Northam Platinum mine in Limpopo was shot dead on Sunday.
The union said the shooting happened at a hiking spot at Northam town at around 16:00. The deceased was a hostel resident at Northam Platinum. The NUM called on Northam Platinum and the police to expedite the arrest of whoever was responsible and said that Northam Platinum “must issue a reward to make sure that whoever is responsible is arrested as soon as possible.”
