ancNews24 reports that the office of the ANC Chief Whip on Sunday dismissed a newspaper report alleging that parliamentary labour portfolio committee chairperson Lumka Yengeni violated labour laws.

The Sunday Times reported that Yengeni’s former domestic worker, Lucia Dlephu, had taken the MP to the CCMA and that she had been found to be guilty by the statutory body of breaching labour laws in that Yengeni had not allowed Dlephu lunch breaks or leave, and that Dlephu had had had to be on duty 24-hours a day.  However, the chief whip's office said Yengeni was never found guilty of any violation of the law or mistreatment of Dlephu.  It added that there was no CCMA ruling or penalty imposed against Yengeni and that the newspaper’s allegations were "inaccurate, without substance and deliberately misleading".
