satawu thumb medium90 101Business Report writes that the SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union (Satawu) says 105 of its members employed by Teti Traffic Services will be without jobs as of Thursday.

Teti is contracted to the SA National Road Agency (Sanral) to manage all highway traffic incidents.  Satawu said in a statement on Tuesday that the company planned on dismissing 105 workers who took part in a wage strike in May.  But this has been denied by Teti, which indicated that a disciplinary hearing would take place on Thursday for strikers who ignored a court interdict to stop them from going back onto the highway where they had previously protested.  But the union remains adamant that the dismissals will take place, claiming that the company had already recruited workers to replace the 105.
