TimesLive reports that scaffolding supplier Form-Scaff is to argue that Murray & Roberts (M&R) did not properly erect the scaffolding supporting the temporary Sandton bridge that collapsed on the M1 highway in October last year.
Cross-examining M&R’s expert witness - engineer Ric Snowden - at the Labour Department inquiry into the accident on Thursday, Form-Scaff lawyer William la Grange suggested that not all bars stabilising the scaffolding had been installed when the bridge was erected. Snowden argued that that was mere speculation.
