gunCaxton News Service reports that a bus driver died after he was shot in Pietermaritzburg while transporting about 50 people on Monday night.  

ER24 paramedics said the bus drove down an embankment and into the front of a house after the driver was shot.  “Paramedics found the bus driver still in the bus where he was declared dead.  They treated and transported one passenger to hospital for minor injuries, while all other passengers refused hospital treatment.  The shooting incident occurred after three men, who boarded the bus on Chief Mhlabunzima Road in Eastwood, attempted to hijack the bus.  The three suspects fled the scene after the bus crashed.
