News24 reports that a Nquthu teacher accused of filming himself having sex with several pupils has maintained his innocence, strongly denying his alleged misdeeds.
A lawyer acting for the suspect has since indicated that the sex acts caught on camera were not with minor learners but between "people of age". Police are investigating a case of statutory rape and no arrest has been made. Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane appealed on Wednesday to the community to provide information about the suspect’s whereabouts. Graphic footage allegedly showing a teacher having sex with a pupil was reported to the department of education last week. The suspected teacher was immediately suspended.
