BDLive reports that about 150 former Tshwane municipal employees whose services were outsourced to private companies began gathering in Marabastad on Wednesday.
This was ahead of a march on the Union Buildings to demand permanent employment and benefits. They were primarily engaged in waste collection services and a protestor claimed that about 6,000 people were affected by outsourcing of services. Protestors said they expected the new Democratic Alliance (DA) administration to act, but they were dealing with the same ANC individuals in office. "We are not fighting the ANC, but there is corruption," one protestor said.
