cosatuIOL News reports that Cosatu Gauteng has called on students and lecturers to join its mass action campaign for working class issues and free education.

The labour federation’s call follows a #FeesMustFall protest by Wits students on Friday, which saw them take their demands for free education to Cosatu's doorstep.  Cosatu told journalists on Tuesday that it had heard the students’ call for action and had decided to support it.  It has added the fees issue to the long list of demands for which it will march on 7 October in honour of International Day of Action.  The march will also address some of Cosatu’s longstanding issues such as scrapping of e-tolls, an end to labour brokers and the implementation of the national minimum wage.
