ancANA reports that the African National Congress (ANC) in Parliament on Wednesday said it would recommend a parliamentary inquiry into the fitness of the current board of the SA Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) to hold office.  

This follows the public broadcaster’s decision to appoint controversial former chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoengeng to another senior executive position.  “The appointment of the corporation’s former COO, whose previous appointment was also set aside by the courts, to another senior executive position, is without a doubt the last straw that breaks the camel’s back,” said ANC chief whip Jackson Mthembu.
