strike thumb medium85 85EWN reported on Friday that negotiations were still underway between striking Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) workers and management.

Workers went on strike earlier this week demanding a 15% salary hike.  The SA Commercial, Catering and Allied Workers’ Union (Saccawu) has rejected the company’s offer of a 10% increase.  Cableway Marketing Manager Collette Van Aswegen said:  “The Saccawu members have been allocated a designated area on which to protest to avoid any disturbance to our visitors.”  The Cableway will apparently be open this weekend, weather permitting.
