Business Report writes that SA’s gender gap is closing and the country has moved up two places to 15 out of 144 countries. This is according to the Global Gender Gap Report 2016 by the World Economic Forum (WEF), published on Tuesday.
The WEF said SA’s own gender gap was getting smaller and had closed by 76%. The report found that SA had closed almost all of its education gender gap, except for literacy, and all of its health and survival gaps. Most improvements were in SA’s economic pillar, specifically in closing gaps in participation in the labour force and estimated earned income. However, the country falls back when it comes to wage equality.
