Netwerk24 reports that the man who shot a farmworker dead while he was hunting warthogs has been released on R15,000 bail.
On Friday, Stefan Hepburn (38) of Montana in Pretoria, was granted bail by the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court. He had been in custody for almost two weeks after the shooting of Jan Railwa (25), a farmworker. Hepburn must now report to the Sinoville police station every Monday and Friday. He and his wife went hunting on 18 February on a friend’s farm. He shot in response to a sound he heard in the mealie fields and hit Railwa, who worked on a neighbouring farm. Hepburn was originally charged with manslaughter, but this was changed to murder. He has to appear in court again on 20 April 2017.
