EWN reports that on Monday morning Metrorail suspended train services in parts of Soweto until further notice due to a protest in Mzimhlophe.
According to eNCA, the services between Dube and New Canada stations have been affected. The Soweto Highway has also been affected after residents burnt tyres to protest against evictions. Commuters have been urged to make alternative transport arrangements. Metrorail's Lillian Mofokeng said police were monitoring the protest and that services would be resumed when it was safe to do so.
