SABC News reports that the illegal strike by members of the SA Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu) in the indebted Thabazimbi Municipality in Limpopo continues unabated.
The union is demanding protective clothing, especially for workers in the electrical and traffic departments. The ongoing feud started about a week ago. Samwu spokesperson Tumisang Pilane said “… we don't have protective clothing in the institution and that's making us to work under unsafe conditions. And we cannot do that anymore that's why we're here waiting for the municipality to provide us with protective clothing.”
