News24 reports that Harmony Gold confirmed on Monday that one of its miners had died over the weekend in a "fall of ground incident" at its Masimong mine in Welkom, Free State.
Harmony Gold spokesperson Lauren Fourie said a rock drill operator had died on Saturday. An investigation into the accident was underway. "Management expressed their sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased," Fourie indicated.
