amcu thumb medium80 81EWN reports that the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) has called on law enforcement agencies to must leave no stone unturned in order to find the perpetrators behind the killings of miners on the Rustenburg platinum belt.

This comes after another worker was shot and killed at his home in Bapong village near Brits last week.  The victim was the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) branch chairperson at Lonmin’s Eastern Platinum mine.  In a statement, Amcu president Joseph Mathunjwa said his union condemned, in the strongest terms, the murders of workers regardless of union affiliation.  “We hope and trust that the culprits will be brought to book unlike in previous killings of our members.  So, we’re fully behind the law enforcement.”
