Fin24 reports that platinum producer Lonmin has received notice of a sympathy strike from the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) in support of its ongoing industrial action at Sibanye-Stillwater’s gold operations.
The company said that according to the notice, the strike will commence on 28 February and last until 7 March. Thousands of Amcu members at Sibanye’s gold operations have been on strike since 21 November, demanding higher wage increases.
