News24 reports that a mineworker was killed on Thursday morning in a fall of ground incident at Harmony Gold's Tshepong mine near Welkom.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague at Tshepong. Harmony's management expresses their sincere condolences to our colleague's family, friends and colleagues," Harmony’s chief executive officer Peter Steenkamp said in a statement on Friday. The gold producer indicated that an investigation into the accident was under way.
