gunNews24 reports that two security officers were shot and killed during a business robbery in Springfield, Durban, on Wednesday.

Paramedics who responded to the scene on Londonderry Crescent found two men, aged between 40 and 50, with gunshot wounds. Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen indicated: "One man was found to have sustained fatal wounds and there was nothing paramedics could do to assist him; he was declared dead on arrival." The second man was found in a critical condition. "Advanced life support paramedics worked fervently to save the man, however he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died on the scene," Van Reenen reported. A shootout is believed to have taken place. Police sources said there were five armed suspects.
