reavayaEWN reported that on Friday the Rea Vaya bus service in Johannesburg had suspended its operations following a labour dispute.

Apparently, bus drivers affiliated to the SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union (Satawu) hung up their keys over undisclosed labour issues. This led to all services coming to a halt. On Monday morning, Rea Vaya tweeted the following update: “Vaya services will remain suspended with no operations over the weekend, (17-18 December 2022), and also affecting Monday (19 December 2022) morning peak period (05:00am - 12:00pm), commuters will be informed of any changes.” The company’s Corrine Lekhoane has urged commuters to make alternative transport arrangements.
