gunNews24 reports that Western Cape police are hunting for a group of armed robbers who stormed the Gugulethu Community Health Centre in Cape Town on Tuesday morning and robbed security staff before fleeing the scene.

A police spokesperson said Gugulethu officers responded to a complaint of a business robbery at around 03:10. According to the Western Cape Department of Health, two of the robbers gained entry to the facility by impersonating sick patients seeking health care, with one suspect sitting in a wheelchair and the other pushing him. "As soon as security guards opened the gate, they pulled out their guns and held them up. Two more robbers then entered the premises," said spokesperson Monique Johnstone. The suspects fled the scene and have yet to be arrested. No one sustained any injuries. Johnstone commented: "We condemn any crime, even more so when criminals prowl on sick and frail. A health facility is a place of healing where those in need of medical care go. In any society, this should not be seen as an easy target for criminals."
