IOL News reports that about 30 people were injured and others trapped when a commuter train derailed at Dal Josafat station in Paarl on Tuesday evening.
According to Drakenstein Farm Watch (DFW), a private firefighting service, a call came through at 6:41pm reporting the incident. DFW said it rushed to the scene and found at least 30 people injured while others were still trapped. DFW managed to rescue all passengers who were trapped in the train and no fatalities were reported. It is still unclear what caused the derailment.
