DispatchLive reports that labour inspectors say they will continue with lunchtime pickets at the East London office of the Department of Labour until their demands are met.
The inspectors, who are aligned to the National Education Health and Allied Workers’ Union (Nehawu), are protesting against management’s failure to implement the same salary scale for all labour inspectors across the Eastern Cape. Nehawu claims inspectors at provincial offices are paid more than inspectors based at regional labour centres.
