EWN reports that Johannesburg’s Metrobus has assured commuters that the ongoing petrol strike will not affect its schedules. Fuel was delivered to Metrobus depots on Monday night, and the supply is expected to last for the remainder of the week.
Metrobus had to reduce services on Monday amid the shortage of petrol due to the Chemical Energy Paper Printing Wood and Allied Workers Union (Ceppwawu) wage strike. Metrobus spokesperson Esther Dreyer said: “Fortunately, we had the delivery of fuel yesterday evening and we will have sufficient fuel to run the normal service for the rest of this week.”
