petrolpump thumb medium80 94EWN reports that the Chemical Energy Paper Printing Wood and Allied Workers’ Union (Ceppwawu) says the National Petroleum Employers’ Association doesn’t appear to be taking its national strike seriously.

The union called the industrial action affecting the petrol manufacturing sector over a week ago, demanding a pay hike of 9% against the employers’ offer of 7%.  The strike is to some extent affecting deliveries from oil refineries and fuel depots.  Ceppwawu's Jerry Nkos said:  "Here, we are dealing with people’s lives.  A strike is not something that can be taken lightly and therefore we can’t just sit and fold our arms like the employer seems to be doing.  It seems they are not taking this seriously."
