Sunday Independent reports that the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has refused to answer questions on why the R5 million insurance payout to the late Orlando Pirates' skipper Senzo Meyiwa has yet to reach his beneficiaries.
This comes nearly four months after the league, together with Pirates, publicly announced the insurance payout to Meyiwa’s children. Meyiwa was shot and killed on 26 October 2014. Two weeks ago, Meyiwa’s father Sam voiced complaints that his family was no longer coping financially as Senzo had been the breadwinner. With the second anniversary of Meyiwa’s killing approaching, there has been no breakthrough in the investigation into his murder.
