gavel thumb100 SABC News reports that the trial of 19 mineworkers appearing on different charges relating to the 2012 unrest in Marikana is expected to resume in the North West High Court on Monday morning.  

Anele Zonke and others are facing charges of murder, robbery, malicious damage to property and unlawful possession of firearms.  The charges relate to the five days preceding 16 August 2012, the day on which 34 mineworkers were gunned down by the police.  The mineworkers’ trial was suspended pending for the outcome of the Marikana Commission of Inquiry that investigated the cause of the tragedy.
