protestTMG Digital reports that labour federation Cosatu on Tuesday vowed to bring Gauteng to a standstill when they march on International Decent Work Day on 7 October.  

Briefing reporters at Cosatu House, provincial secretary Dumisani Dakile said the labour confederation viewed the march as the beginning of a campaign on behalf of workers‚ "to tilt the balance of forces in their favour against the ruling class and its allies which had benefitted over the past 22 years of the democratic rule".  He called on students to join the march in their numbers with their parents.  Cosatu would be marching to the Department of Finance and the Chamber of Commerce where they will submit draft tax amendments to Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan.
